These videos show the process involved in creating a painting from start to end. I want to show the layers involved and the amount of time it takes to create a painting. Hundreds of stills were taken and compressed into these short video.
Rome in 24
This is a time lapse of my trying to paint Rome in a day. I was trying to prove the quote "Rome wasnt built in a day" wrong. Well, the painting took me over a month to finish. So, its true, Rome wasnt built in a day. Conclusion: Everything in life take time, success at any measure is a marathon not a sprint.

paris clouds swiss mountains
These are based on my travels to France and Switzerland. Paris in the spring where the clouds were absolutely beautiful against the Parisian backdrop. Jungfrau, Switzerland, where the air was thick, temperature low and Swiss Alps for as far as the eye could see, absolutely breathtaking.
43 & Barcelona
Leading up to arguable one of the biggest elections in American History, I decided to paint the past 43 presidents so to see visually how we got here. Over Americas Presidential history, Its great to see the style changes and how the facial expressions differ from generation to another. Barcelona was taken from the hills of Gaudi Park, a beautiful view that i had to paint.
"Autobahn for off season training" & "Temptation" are the two large paintings. "Golden State Park" & "Autobahn Redux" make appearances toward the end.
January 19, 2009; Sears Tower; N,S,E,W views
It was a bitter cold day in Chicago on January 19th, a viscous snow storm hit the night before and left almost a foot of snow on the ground. But, this day brought blues skies and a radient low arcing sun to the South that cast beautiful elongated Midwest shadows. I walked to the Sears Tower, went up to the sky-deck, spent 4 hours studying and documenting my trip, then walked back to my studio on the South side of the city. For the next 7 months I worked on these paintings. This video contains almost 1700 stills, collapsed into 1 minute-40 seconds, to create this time lapse presentation. Enjoy!
A time lapse video using over 700 stills for the animation. this was the first color in over 18 months. enjoy!
